A bird leaves its greasy outline after hitting a window.

Had I not seen it for myself, I probably wouldn't believe that this picture wasn't photoshopped. My friends Strath and Emily had a hawk visit their window this weekend. They think their kitty was hanging near the window and the hawk was going to attack her. They said they didn't find a body so they're hoping the hawk was able to fly away.

This is amazing. I hope they never wash it.
I know, right? It's one of the coolest things I've seen!
Are all hawks that greasy?
Hawks are all pretty much that greasy, it has to do with keeping their feathers intact so that they can fly and water-proofing. The oil is secreted much like the oil in your body that runs down hair follicles and out of pores. Most hawks have a diet rich in Omega 3's due to their diet of mostly fish.
well there you have it! thanks anne.
