"Whiskey sledding - take my mind..."

Been a couple of years since it snowed enough when I was home to go sledding. Snowed plenty this year!

"I'm afraid of Americans..."

This was a sidewalk poll done by The Inlander (Spokane's version of the Weekly).

I assume that Amy was raised by a pack of wild misogynists.

"Silent night"

When I think of Holidays 2007, I'll be thinking of Jody Hall's falsetto voice singing, "Silent Night" (Sufjan Stevens style).

It's been a festive holiday season but between the beautiful tree, Makers, friends and more animals than a stable, last night just screamed "HAPPY HOLIDAZE!"

We all pooped out before midnight carol'ing, but there's always next year!
"More grog, m'lord?", asked the Yuletide temptress.

EARL Launch

EARL has been launched. Poor Greg ran into some technical difficulties with the acceptance of bills, but that'll be fixed tomorrow.

Here are some pics.

Amy & Shalimar

Joey, Yann Novak & Steven Miller

Yann has a great disc of Rome field recordings. Steven has two books -- and they both sound fantastic. The first one is called, "The Consequences of Falling in Love" and is a photo series of 2 guys destroying a hotel room while occasionally making out. The second one is simply called, "Pee Forest" and is a photo series of ...

EARL 3.0 Robotic Art Dispenser

Tomorrow night, Greg Lundgren is launching EARL 3.0 Robotic Art Dispenser. Showcasing 30+ artists in all sorts of mediums. The catch -- you buy the art from a vending machine.

I dropped off my pieces last night (2.5" x 2.5" paintings of animals) and saw a glimpse of it. It's AMAZING! I wanted to buy one of everything. Prices will run between $2 and $60!

Some of the artists off the top of my head include Yann Novak, Steven Miller, Chris Crites, Aaron & Jessixa Bagley, Jesse Edwards, Greg Lundgren, Dylan Neuwirth, Jim Blanchard and Kathy Kim. Some of the items include "miniature galleries", glicee prints, cds, coasters, paintings, ceramic pens, pre-loaded usb devices, books and zines.

Stop by, it's stocked indefinitely.

"more songs about eating + drinking"

i went to the one pot "more songs about eating + drinking" last night. it was a drizzly sunday evening at neumos. inside, the candleabras made everything glow a soft buttery gold.

it was free makers mark all night. which right there would be about the best evening i can think of! but then tables full of artists (visual/music/writers,chefs), bookers, owners, tree-house builders and the like all sat down for an evening of delicious food, wine and song.

i'm a dick when it comes to music and don't know as much as i should, so i can't say who was there. the only band i knew of was the long winters. but they all were amazing! one song involved bells ("that sound like angels' wings.") and summed up the cozy energy of the evening.

i attended to visually document the event so look for some drawings/something soon.

update: the bands were The Nick Jaina Band, members of Pearl Jam, The Cave Singers, Love Menu. i hope they do post the music as it was amazing.
